Dr. Ron and Sue Rockwell became lead pastors of Harvest Church in June 2001. At the time, the church was comprised of a handful of committed people who had begun meeting as a church in 1996 on an 11-acre parcel of land at the corner of 83rd and Northern Avenues under the leadership of Pastor Ray and Hilda Murrell.
From the beginning, the heart of Harvest’s leadership has been to generously invest in lives with the love and grace of an awesome God. That heart has resulted in a church culture marked by commitment to seeing people of all ages and backgrounds receive God’s love in their hearts and experience His power for victorious living.
We have always believed in the importance of strengthening and encouraging families. Over the last decade especially, Harvest has increased its commitment to invest in the families of our community. Our multi-purpose Student Center hosts Kidventure Academy for kids Kindergarten thru 6th grade, and CREW Youth and Young Adult Ministries from 7th grade thru to the college years.
Harvest Kidz Preschool opened in 2007 and provides a weekly, Christian-based, private preschool and kindergarten.
Our passion and mandate is to reach, disciple, and train strong followers of Christ. As we pressed forward with this vision, a 1,000-seat Worship Center was opened in 2010. This facility includes a café court, inviting and safe nursery and preschool rooms, Christian education classrooms, as well as executive offices. Newly added is our HC Coffee shop with custom iced coffees and cappuccinos.
In addition, with the strategic purpose of “loving God and loving people,” Harvest set out on a mission to plant churches of ethnic and generational diversity. Over the years, our facilities have been expanded and remodeled and currently serve as home to eight independent multi-ethnic congregations.
We welcome you to our home, a place we call Harvest Church. It’s our desire to see you and your family grow in the grace and knowledge of a most loving Savior, and to find encouraging fellowship and community with others along the way.
